About
Pitchside is an independent sports library built for the Indian fan. We explain the game, so the writing is as useful the tenth time you read it as the first.
Independent by design
No operators, no bookmakers, no hidden agenda. We answer to readers and nobody else.
Built to last
Guides and explainers over hot takes. We write the pieces you come back to.
All of India’s games
Cricket leads, but kabaddi and football get real coverage too.
Our story
Pitchside started as a simple idea: give the country’s sports fans a home that treats them like grown-ups and explains the games properly, from first principles.
Today a small team of writers builds a growing library of guides, explainers and histories on cricket, football and kabaddi. We aren’t trying to be first. We’re trying to be the page you keep coming back to.
The Newsroom
Writers who explain Indian sport for the love of it.
